A closer May 2008 view of the quarry walls and stocpiles. Look at the large boulders and rocks in the stockpile for basalt with small vugs lined with microcrystals of zeolites.

Shooters

Five Mile Quarry, Porter, Grays Harbor Co., Washington, USA

Shooters often use the quarry for target practice. We had no problem with them. They did come over and talk to us, wondering what we were doing. I noticed that they collected some rock just prior to departing.

Sunrise over the quarry

Five Mile Quarry, Porter, Grays Harbor Co., Washington, USA

This was the stunning view as I arrived at the quarry. If Bigfoot lives anywhere, he likely saw the same thing. No rock in this view, but it illustrates the forest locale.
