A view of the wall of the central area between the Middle Pit and the South Pit, as it appeared on August 30, 1998. Middle Pit, A Quiet Morning

Middle pit, Gold Hill Mine (Western Utah Mine), Gold Hill, Gold Hill District (Clifton District), Deep Creek Mts, Tooele Co., Utah, USA

A view up into the Middle Pit as it appeared on the morning of August 30, 1998. It was quiet save for the crunch of boots on the ground and the sound of your own hammer bashing rock. Gold Hill is remote locale in a very sparsely populated area. Just the type of place to get away from things. Robert Meyer photograph.
