Mesnard Mine (Quincy No. 8 shaft), Quincy Mine, Hancock, Houghton Co., Michigan, USA This is the steel headframe of the Mesnard (Quincy No. 8) Mine, located north of Hancock, Michigan and north of the Quincy No. 2 shafthouse. The headframe was erected during the 80's when Homestake Mining Co. explored the Keweenaw Peninsula for copper reserves and whether there was enough to mine at a profit. |
