Agate-Ensconced Pickled Peridotite Nuggets

Presque Isle, Marquette Co., Michigan, USA

Approaching the peridotite flow, the Jacobsville Sandstone becomes cracked and riddled with veins of quartz and agate, suggestive of heaving ground and hydrothermals and volcanism. The black blobs appear to be perdotite chunks.
