Morkhun & Tupopdan

Morkhun, Hunza Valley, Gilgit District, Gilgit-Baltistan (Northern Areas), Pakistan

Hunza River near Morkhun. Still lie in the shade, at left can see a light colored dyke crossing darker metamorphic materials. At background, already sunny, the sharp peaks of Tupopdan massif with Tupopdan summit (6.106 m) at right.

Nagar & Rakaposhi

Nagar is an area in the upper Hunza Valley, just at north of Rakaposhi massif. Nagar was an independent princely state including vast land both sides of Hunza Valley. Today Hunza-Nagar is a district into Gilgit-Baltistan federal territory also known as Northern Areas.

Upper Hunza Valley

Near Morkhun in the Upper Hunza Valley can see the contact between materials of Karakoram Metamorphic Complex and the Karakoram Batholith, with his characteristic saw shaped steep slopes.
