H3E-VEQPyrosmalite Group
Field of View: 50 cm
Vein of pink pyrosmalite-group mineral in boulder of contactmetamorphic rock. Vein is about 40 cm long, 1 cm wide. Photo taken 7 April 2012. The powder XRD pattern is closer to schallerite than to pyrosmalite-(Mn), but SEM-EDS does not show the presence of As. SEM-EDX shows Mn, Si, Cl, O. This is likely an As-free, schallerite-like polytype of pyrosmalite-(Mn).

Field of View: 40 mm
Vein of pink pyrosmalite-group mineral. The powder XRD pattern is closer to schallerite than to pyrosmalite-(Mn), but SEM-EDS does not show the presence of As. SEM-EDX shows Mn, Si, Cl, O. This is likely an As-free, schallerite-like polytype of pyrosmalite-(Mn). Brownish crusts are rhodochrosite.

Image width approx. 5 mm. Red phoenicochroite, orange wulfenite, orange-brownish iranite (upper right corner), and yellow schwartzembergite. Blue stuff is likely boleite.
