My name is Ingo Loeffler.
I was born in Jena / Thuringia, Germany, but now me and my familie live in Korbach / Hessen.Since my 12. Year of live accompanies me the mineral collecting. So I was trained by older collector not only in correct handling and to determine minerals, but also in keeping the oldSense of honor of the mineral collectors. But I´m not a professional, even if I can look back on 20 Years experience.


Already in 1998 I recognized the trend of the rising prices mineral market, because of my bad financial background I specialised in collecting calcite.
Calcite is one of the most common minerals in earth's crust and features with over 2.000 forms the biggest crystal variety. It appears in almost every mineral collection and valorizes it with its partly bizarre aggregates and miscellaneous formations. Calcite is the mineral for the crystallographic interested collector.


Today I´m an enthusiastically calcitecollector and do not repent my decision. I can never mesure me with the "the big ones" in the scene, but I´m proud on which I collected until now. Meanwhile I have a balanced proportion between bought and self collected Calcites without losing my high requiretment to the quality.
My interest in calcite is not only concentrated in different localitys, but also in interesting crystalforms and combinations.
I prefere calcites of the following occurrences:
European classics, as well as the calcites from Mexico and the USA.
