Hi everyone. Thanks for visiting my homepage. I live in Northern New Jersey, USA. I have been seriously collecting minerals for about 6 years, previous to that, I collected as a kid. I lost interest as a teenager, but came back to the hobby in 2004. My interests lie primarily in the minerals of New Jersey, we certainly seem to have a lot of them here! Firstly are the minerals of the Franklin Mining district, most importantly the fluorescents. I am also interested in the non-fluorescent minerals of Franklin and Sterling Hill mines. Secondly would be the minerals of the Franklin Marble belt, as found at Lime Crest Quarry (see photos) and the Farber Quarry. Thirdly would be the NJ traprock minerals from the Passaic and Essex county areas. I am also constantly seeking out new localities in NJ, with a very long list of places I would like to visit. I have been collecting microminerals for the last 2 years as well. Although I have a preference for NJ minerals, I like almost any micromount. The best part of mineral collecting is all the friends I have made with my memberships in F.O.M.S., The Franklin Mineral Museum, the Sterling Hill Mining Museum, the North Jersey Mineralogical Society and D.V.E.S.S. It's great going to all the mineral shows and chatting with the people I know (and buying minerals from some of them). You may run into me at Sterling Hill or Buckwheat one of these days. I have a large tattoo on my leg with the logo of the NJ Zinc Co. and the Horsehead symbol. Gary
