Multiple photos available
St Peters Dome, Cheyenne District, El Paso Co., Colorado, USA

Dimensions: 6 cm x 4 cm x 4 cm

Octahedral crystal associated with reddish-brown cyrtolite crystals; 6 x 4 x 4 cm; 105.5 grams; This could be one of the largest pyrochlores from Colorado. I purchased this one at the Colorado School of Mines Geological Museum. It was erroneously labeled as monazite. The specific gravity of this piece came in at 4.3 and it registered 2000 CPM on a Radalert 100. A rare combination specimen! Collection of Rudy Bolona.
