Married with minerals

I am a Frankfurt am Main (Germany) mineral collector, hunting, buying and exchanging minerals since I was a kid of 14 years - and that's quite a few days ago. I had always been amazed by the perfection of crystals, their forms and their colors and I have always loved to hunt rocks.

As I had been working and travelling all over the world, I had the opportunity to collect in many of the famous mineral localities in Europe, Asia, Africa and Latin America and to assemble a collection of almost 8.700 fine specimen, thereof 1.250 fluorites. Due to space problems and because of personal reasons I sold this collection some time ago.

However, since about 12 years I am focussing on all kind of feldspars (of which I built a 500+ specimen collection) and I am safeguarding a pretty and large collection of only Moroccan minerals, thereof not few specs from the old days of active mining. My main collecting sites are in Spain, where I intend to live in the future.

I am the author of the world's most comprehensive monography on fluorites, titled: "Fluorite - Data, facts, worldwide occurrences", describing about 5.500 fluorite localities. I am also a free-lance writer (geology and mineralogy) and international moderator of the German-language website "Mineralienatlas".
