I have studied mineralogy, am a mineral collector and work as a professional mineralogist (Curator of the Mineral and Ore Deposit Collections of the Natural History Museum Vienna since January 2007). My strongest interests are in systematic mineralogy, crystallography and crystal chemistry, ore deposits, but also in materials science and environmental mineralogy. Recently, part of my scientific work has focused on new slag "minerals" and their crystallography.

Member of: DMG (German Mineralogical Society), Mineralogical Society (GB), ÖMG (Austrian Mineralogical Society), SMMP (Society of Mineral Museum Professionals), Stuttgarter Mineralien- und Fossilienfreunde e.V., Honorary member of AMI (Italian Micromineral Society).
