I was born in Germany and lived there twice in my life 1964 to 1966 and 1972 to 1976 from there we moved to Africa and lived in Ethiopia for three years in "67". My father than was stationed in Fort Huachuca, Arizona in 1976. Fort Huachuca is about 20 minutes from Bisbee, 30 minutes from Gleeson, and a short drive to any number of well known collecting areas.
This is the part that kills me, I didn't save anything! Nada, nill, none, zip, zero. I lived close to one of the most prolific mineral collecting areas in the United States and didn't have squat to show! If I knew then what I know now I would have saved all the Minerals my father and I collected at the various mines we visited and have an outstanding southwest mineral collection.
There are few things we cherish more than our mineral collection. The friends that Diana and I have made as we travel to the different shows and dealers houses over the years has been one adventure after another. Most,almost all,of the people we have had the pleasure to have met have been so nice and gracious. I think we value the friendships we have forged as much as our collection.
