Originally from the US, I had gotten stationed in Keflavik Iceland while in the navy. After finding a few odd looking xls I quickly picked up rock hounding here in Iceland. Other then minerals I enjoy hikeing camping, volcanology, playing guitar, and long walks on the beach.
I trade the speicimens found here in Iceland for others around the world.

Zagi Mountain (Zegi), Mulla Ghori, Khyber Agency, Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA), Pakistan
This important specimen has a pristine, GLOWING , colorful crysatl infused with sharp inclusions of rutile. It was featured in the recent article by Herb Obodda on Zagi Mountain which appeared in Mineralogical Record. the crystal is about 2 cm tall, and lustrous as heck. Perfectly symmetrical. You just couldn't ask for a better on on matrix and ...

What a great color contrast! This huge, deep yellow sulfur crystal , which measures 4.5 x 6 cm, sits on a matrix of color zoned aragonite crystals, one of which is doubly terminated and 2.5 cm in length. Overall, the visual impact of that front-and-center crystal is pretty amazing. Although the sulfur has a matte luster, the aragonites sparkle ...

Jamison K Turnbull's Blog
A blog is a series of personal articles recorded in date-order somewhat like diary entries. You can use your blog to keep track of your collecting adventures, your purchases, your thoughts and ideas, anything that you think other mindat.org members would be interested to read about. Other members can leave comments after your blog entry, but you can delete any comments you find inappropriate.
Jamison K Turnbull's Articles
Articles are pages created by you to share with other mindat.org users. These may be serious (a formal scientific article) or personal (you could write an article about your collecting adventures, or about your artistic creations). You can work on your articles in private until you are ready to publish them. The best articles will be promoted throughout the site.
Unlike Blog Entries, you can continue to edit your articles if they have been published (should you find new information, for example).
