My main interest lies in the minerals from Slovenia. Almost all of the specimens in my collection are self-collected.

Piedra Parada (Piedras Parado), Mun. de Tatatila, Veracruz, Mexico
4.7 x 3.5 x 1.2 cm. An extremely rare and famous specimen, this is "the Romero Amethyst twin" to many collectors. It is a freak of nature in that, for some reason, amethyst has not been found in Japan-law twinning as with its smoky and clear cousins. Nobody knows why. Field of view: 2.5 mm, Photo & Collection: JM. Johannet.
Green metatorbernite cluster on quartz with little pale yellow balls of cyrilovite.
When I've found this sample, some years ago, it was still a torbernite, perfectly transparent.

FOV=1.8 cm. Crocoite crystals that are both transparent AND well-terminated! The low symmetry of the termination forms clearly shows that the crystals are monoclinic. Two stereo images in this series. Collection and photo, T. Peterson.

A very fine and excellent esthetic miniature. Proustite crystals are sharply defined, with perfect terminations and superb color, transparency and brilliance. We would like to emphasize its luminous cherry red color.

Igor Dolinar's Blog
A blog is a series of personal articles recorded in date-order somewhat like diary entries. You can use your blog to keep track of your collecting adventures, your purchases, your thoughts and ideas, anything that you think other mindat.org members would be interested to read about. Other members can leave comments after your blog entry, but you can delete any comments you find inappropriate.
Igor Dolinar's Articles
Articles are pages created by you to share with other mindat.org users. These may be serious (a formal scientific article) or personal (you could write an article about your collecting adventures, or about your artistic creations). You can work on your articles in private until you are ready to publish them. The best articles will be promoted throughout the site.
Unlike Blog Entries, you can continue to edit your articles if they have been published (should you find new information, for example).
