About the day I became a mineral collector:

I was 8. My father and I were hiking. We came across some quartz boulders. I noticed one of the smaller boulders had quartz crystals growing on it. I asked my father if I could have it. Chuckling to himself, he said, "sure Jennifer, so long as you can carry it back," thinking that I would be daunted by such a burdensome task. I still have that twenty pound quartz specimen.

Never come between a woman and her rocks- especially one who can carry them ;-)

My collection focuses on:

Quartz
Apatite
Muscovites of strong coloration
Garnets (all varieties)
Cuprite
Spinel

Of course, there are also other occasional specimens that capture my interest.

I enjoy field collecting and trading specimens with my fellow rockhounds.
