“This is a cabinet-sized specimen of purple fluorite and white celestine from the Stoneco White Rock Quarry (now operated by the Shelly Company), Clay Center, Ottawa County, Ohio. I took this photograph at the 2019 Mansfield, OH Mineral Show and the theme of the show was fluorite. This specimen was collected by Tom Kottyan. Dimensions are an approximation. Purple fluorite is relatively uncommon from Ohio quarries compared with brown colors frequently found in the Lockport Dolomite.
