This is a historical piece from an unknown professor's collection at the Michigan College of Mines, it comes with their label. I acquired it from Michael Basal in Michigan who in turn had aquired it from the AES Museum in Houghton as they were clearing out specimens not from Michigan. I have never seen a gold specimen from this locality. It is very old, probably collected in 1800s because the Michigan School of Mines name was changed in 1925! The specimen is about 2 inches long and right in the middle of a crevice in the sacchoroidal quartz is a small vug with a semi circle of gold about 1 cm across approx.
