“This specimen was chipped out of the amygdaloidal lava (locally known as scurdy stone) by myself in 1963. It is a fortification agate in typical pink, brown and white colours for Scurdieness. This specimen also has quartz and chlorite. The specimen is cut and polished. The face of this agate measures 7.5cm x 5.3cm. Each half of the agate is 1.5cm thick.
