Coniagas Mine, Cobalt, Ontario, Canada
230mm x 165mm x 62mm
Here is an unusual one! This specimen is extremely large, high-grade silver ore from Cobalt. It is composed of coars white calcite with silver laced throughout it, protruding here and there as leaves and plates. Most of the silver is tarnished pitch-black but here and there the true colour of the silver is exposed. There are some arsenides present on one side but it is mostly just silver and calcite. The piece is not weathered, at all and came from active mining operations many years ago.
