This Quartz crystal (LENGTH 2.5CM) was collected by me at a copper mine about ten miles from the chrome mines of El Dorado county. the mine is THE LILYAMA MINE, and is on private property. in the 1980's i was introduced to the caretaker of the site, Randy, who allowed me to rockhound the area and i found several different mineral specimens. epidote, grossular garnet, chalcopyrite, magnetite, QUARTZ. and many others. at the time i only kept the good crystals that i could find.the rose quartz crystals were found in the garnet skarn where a quartz seam crossed it. most of the quartz crystals had been eroded by acid, including this one. this crystal shows etching on the sides and the loss of the termination.
