Yellow Chalcopyrite crystals partially replaced by violet Bornite in Calcite matrix. Polished section in reflected light. This sulphide Se-free assemblage occur on periphery of rich selenide assemblage shown on the picture #246998 in the same 4x2.5 cm specimen. Note well visible polysinthetic twinning within the calcite grain. FOV is ~0.7x0.5 mm. Pavel M. Kartashov collection and photo.

SEM image of the same place of polished section. Chalcopyrite in BSE is some darker than Bornite due to lover Cu content, what is well visible on EDS spectra (see daughter photo). This sulphide Se-free assemblage occur on periphery of rich selenide assemblage shown on the picture #246998 in the same 4x2.5 cm specimen. Pavel M. Kartashov collection and photo.

ED spectra of Chalcopyrite (upper) and Bornite (lower) from Bukov. We can see only Cu, Fe and S in composition of both minerals, but they are in different proportions according to their formulae CuFeS2 and Cu5FeS4. Selenium completely absent on both spectres. This sulphide Se-free assemblage occur on periphery of rich selenide assemblage shown on the picture #246998 in the same 4x2.5 cm specimen. FOV is ~0.7x0.5 mm.Pavel M. Kartashov collection and photo.

Yellow Chalcopyrite crystals partially replaced by violet Bornite in Calcite matrix. In some tiny crystals Bornite is replaced by blue Covellite.
