Goboboseb Mountains, Brandberg, Erongo, Namibia
71mm x 133mm x 71mm
This is a very special specimen that is truely one of a kind because it tells a story about the life of the specimen. On the right side you'll see a small fragment of amethyst. This appears to be the base where the large scepter amethsyt crystal broke off at some point in its life. The scepter then came to rest where it is now, and the orange calcite crystals continued to grow inside of the vug. Eventually the calcite grabbed ahold of the amethyst scepter, locking it into place as you see it today. So, as you can see this is not an ordinary Namibian amethyst specimen. It is a moment in time frozen forever.
