Brownish-grey rounded grains of Knebelite (in the center and upper left parts of the specimen) in poly-metallic sulphide ore. Associating minerals are dark-brown FeMn-Pyroxene, forming rims around Knebelite, and sulphides - Pyrrhotite, Pyrite, Galena, Sphalerite, Chalcopyrite and Arsenopyrite. This Knebelite was described in the article - Groznova e.a. (2006): Mineralogy and PT Formation Conditions of Lead–Zinc Ore at the Dzhimidon Deposit, North Osetia. Geology of Ore Deposits 48(2), 108-133. Analytical data are available at the daughter photo. Specimen size is 4.5x2x1.5 cm. Collected by Georgy Akimov in 2004. Pavel M. Kartashov collection and photo.

EDS spectra of knebelite (upper) and associating FeMn-pyroxene (lower). Their empirical formulas are (Mn1.13Fe0.80Mg0.07)2.00[SiO4] for knebelite what is equal to Tph56.5Fa40Fo3.5 and (Fe1.20Mn0.57Mg0.23)2.00[Si2O6] for probably new Fe-Mn member of pyroxene group. Its composition is equal to 60 at.% of ferrosilite, 11 at.% of enstatite and 29 at.% of new unnamed end member MnSiO3. Probably chemical formula of the new pyroxene may be (Fe,Mg)(Mn,Fe)[Si2O6], similar to another new pyroxene described from Tazheran massif - ferrodonpeacorite (Mg,Fe)(Mn,Fe)[Si2O6]. Pavel M. Kartashov analytical data.
