“This specimen was one of those that you pick up because it is interesting, but never really realised how interesting it was until you clean it up. I knew this specimen had a fair amount of copper on it with a little silver poking through some calcite. After a few baths in vinegar, most of the calcite was removed and several large blebs of silver appeared. The specimen measures approx. 8 cm across with the largest of the silver approx. 7 mm across. It was collected in August, 2009 from the Minesota Mine in Ontonagon Co., MI. A few other coppers and copper/silver halfbreeds were collected as well; all in all a good day at the Minesota Mine.”
