“Xl ~ 0.9 mm tall. Found Sept 2001. MOB coll.
New photo June 2013 with more accurate colors. But it’s still a lousy photo and the colors are still not quite right. Tough subject.
Nevertheless, this little xl is of interest because it was found in a very unexpected place, namely the Poudrette pegmatite (or possibly an “offshoot vein” thereof).
There are two child photos (one in stereo) which show the habit – especially the terminal faces –more clearly. But the colors are even further off from reality. (The color should be “champagne” – somewhat like that in [http://www.mindat.org/photo-178979.html].)
In any case, the termination is like that shown in diagram b. on p. 42 of the Lapis MSH special issue (July/August 2000). The prismatic habit is more like diagram f.
The xl is associated with well formed, but very tiny, colorless gaidonnayite xls (not shown in the photos). There is also a second, smaller, narsarsukite xl of very simple habit (also not shown).

“Xl ~ ¾ mm wide. This is a child photo.
This is a fudged version of the old parent photo. The color is still much too saturated (see parent) but the photo probably provides the best view of the termination.
