A drone view of the Mineralogy Museum MINES ParisTech

Last Updated: 7th Jun 2017

Hello all,

I thought that for my first article as curator at the Mineralogy Museum MINES ParisTech (Ecole des Mines de Paris), it should be about the presentation of the place itself.
Recently, we had a little drone coming over and filming over the display cases in the gallery of the museum. I thought that for those who do not know the place, it would only encourage you to come! And for those who know it already, you will discover it as you've never seen it before.

Reminder: our museum is open Tuesday through Friday from 1:30pm to 6pm, and on Saturday from 10am to 12:30pm and 2pm to 5 pm.
All of the info here:
In the meantime, I'll see you all in Sainte-Marie at the end of the month!

Hi Eloise
Congratulations on the new job!
Folks might also like to see this short video of the Lapworth Museum
- nicely done, I think. The Lapworth is one of five finalists for the prestigious Art Fund Museum of the Year - we will learn the result in early July - here's hoping!

I love the look of the museum.

Bien joue', Eloise,
Your posting brought back many fine memories for me--my first and only visit to the museum before you became employed there, our adopted French second family in Paris, who trusted us with their son, a foreign exchange student for 2 years in Arizona, and my love of French history and wine.

Merci beaucoup! See you in Tucson!

A very nice presentation indeed! The cabinets and the collections are very beautiful. Must visit this museum when I visit Paris again some day.
