Warsaw mineral show September 2010

Warsaw Mineral Show, September 2010

This weekend I visited the Warsaw Mineral Show, a large show held here, in the Palace of Culture. The palace was built in the 1950s as a 'gift' from Stalin, and although the building is disliked by many for both its historical symbolism and it's soviet design, it remains not only an important part of the Warsaw skyline but also an excellent venue form events such as this.

There are adverts for the show all over Warsaw.

And some carved creations.

And a cup made of charoite!

The show remained busy both days

In the entrance was a promotion for the Lwowek crystal summer 2011

And behind the curtains, vodka!

And Lwowek beer.

No papperazzi!

Finally, a little celebration in the evening, which of course called for Russian 'champagne'!
