Meerssen Swap Fair - Meerssen, The Netherlands

Last Updated: 25th Mar 2018

This is a LIVE report, keep this page loaded for live updates - new images will appear as they are added.

We’re here way too early and we were one of the first to arrive and now we’re just waiting for everybody to arrive. This is the only fair we attend in The Netherlands, but we’ve been here for years. There is always a great mix of Dutch, Belgians and Germans here so I’m looking forward to the exchanges today.

When I have a fan then I put a spotlight on them! Elmar Lackner is already busy looking at other people’s stuff.

Wim Wijshoff is the organiser of today and he is always helpfull when you want to exchange with him

Uri Wagner’s material is very popular - Sebastian Axt and Patrick Corthals

My first exchanges for today. From top to bottom; a Moroccan fademquartz, a German galena and a French fluorite

Paul Mestrom is one of the most active people in mineralogy in the Belgian-Dutch region. Here he is very busy checking his Fleicher’s

Cyriel Matthé is taking a long time to exchange.

One of the biggest pro’s of this exchange fair... lunch is included!

We’re all listening to a speech of the president Wim Wijshoff

Have I told you already that the guys from the 4M are always present? Michel Croisez and Alain Legrand

And that’s it for now. We had a great time and a lot of great trades took place. Next year we will be back here on the 31st of march!
Now I will be silent until the next fair in may: the Antwerp Minerant show on the 5th and 6th of may.

I can stop if you want, but I am enjoying this too much. After today I’ll be quiet for a while due to the lack of mineral fairs. :(
