MineralsFluorarrojadite-(NaFe)
22nd May 2012 22:07 UTCPedro Alves Expert
what's the actual situation of the Fluorarrojadite-(NaFe)?
I've analysed a specimen (EDS) with this result:
O 27.29
F 6.27
Na 3.16
Mg 0.71
Al 11.21
P 16.42
Ca 25.78
Fe 2.20
The morphology match also.
Cheers,
Pedro Alves

thanks for your intervention.
I was just curious about the actual situation of some minerals of the arrojadite group. Of course, only by EDS it's not posible to caracterize the species.
Anyway i'm sorry for the stupid and precipitated post. Looking the values, even with semiquantitative analysis, it could never be a member of the arrojadite group (no Fe or Mn enough to M position-13).
By other side, the values fit nicelly with Morinite's chemical composition. Again, we need to confirm with structural analysis.
Sorry again,
Pedro

it's Morinite!
Confirmed by p-XRD.
Cheers,
Pedro
