Trying to identify some of the nicer pieces in my collection. I really like this one and thought it was perfect to start with. Any help would be greatly appreciated. It is about 6x4 in.

Looks like common Mexican matrix with calcite crystals and the green could be Malachite or some other minerals like rosasite and auricalcite if bluer than it seems in your photo.

Robert, please take more images, and if you can, get really clear images of the green areas. Its probably malachite or rosasite but the image is too far and little too blurry to tell.

If you plan on asking for more identifications, we'll need multiple images, close, and little further away from the "main" crystals. We'll also need to know what the origin is, like what mine or quarry it came from.

Agree with Gary...almost certainly the ubiquitous Ojuela mine, Mapimi, Mexico material---could be calcite with austinite, malachite or rosasite---aurichalcite seems less likely.

The association of what appears to be calcite with the green mineral is suggestive of conichalcite.

How true to color is your photo? If it really is as green as the photo appears to be that could rule out rosasite and aurichalcite as they tend to be much more blue in color.
