Identity HelpBityite from Pizzo Marcio North dyke unconfirmed/questioned, but why?

13th Jan 2018 19:21 UTCVik Vanrusselt Expert

Hello all,

https://www.mindat.org/locentry-1072937.html

states that Bityite from this locality is unconfirmed/questioned,

yet there are more than enough references,

the description of the locality itself (https://www.mindat.org/loc-292607.html) mentions bityite,

and there are 6 bityite images for the locality: https://www.mindat.org/gallery.php?loc=292607&min=689

I would just like to know why the species is unconfirmed/questioned at this locality :-)

Thank you all in advance :-)

Apparently the references did not confirm bityite because they contained no chemical analysis "The Italian occurrences of bityite are not confirmed by probed analyses and they can be classified as margarite rich in Li and Be."
