Ciao Italian micromounters,

While doing the quick hike up the tourist trail on Mt Vesuvius I picked up some of the weathered lava(?) rocks with many (gas venting) holes

I was lucky and found some leucite xls, and peridotite but also some very small clear glassy xls, showing prism faces , some with hexagonal looking blunt terminations and striations on the sides

Not sure what they are - any Vesuvius experts care to help?

Grazie!

Difficult to get a good photo of:

FOV 0.75mm - same photo - outline of xl faces - hexagonal?

Yes, that makes sense - nepheline is even list right NEXT to leucite in one of my mineral guides! duh

Thank you Pavel - how do you know so much about Italian mineral? : )

Grazie Antonio
