Identity HelpAnglesite?

Thanks for the comments I'm happy with cerrusite.

From Hafan Mine in Mid-Wales. The crystals are a distinctive shape, clear though with a frosted surface and sub 1mm dimension which obviously makes a decent photo quite tricky. Anglesite is reported from this lead-copper mine.

Thanks in advance.

Cerussite.

I would have thought cerussite too. Have a look at Goldschmidt - Cerussite No. 157.

But then my crystallography is not always the best so I stand to be corrected !

Thanks, I was wavering to Cerrusite but all I have found at any of the Mid-Wales mines is flat 'ferns' so that's a nice surprise.

- and why not gypsum??

It looks like cerussite to me. Crystal form does not fit to gypsum at all. The habit is quite typical as for cerussite. Also, gypsum is unknown from the mine given, while cerussite is well known there.

Agree with Cerussite.
