Mineral PhotographyHow can I improve this photo?

I uploaded this photo yesterday and I see it has been put in my user gallery only, I am wondering why this may be, is it because of the photo quality, if so what can I do to improve it, it looks in focus to me, so I don't know what else I can do to improve it.

If there is another reason why it is in my user gallery I would be interested to know why, I know that sometimes photos sometimes end up in the user gallery if there is an abundance of similar photos but there are only 14 images of bobdownsite.

Hi Jason, I've had nothing to do with this but here's my 2 cents. First how do you know this is Bobdownsite and not whitlockite? I suspect your albite is barite and that association ought to be in the galleries. A more general problem with all the gormanites is that they may be sousalite, if I remember correctly.

Thanks for the explanation Rob. I don;'t know if it is Bobdownsite or whitlockite, that;s what the label says, and the same for the gormanite/sousalite but if that is the case then shouldn't all the pics of gormanite be changed? I will edit my photo it to state that it could be whitlockite and sousalite. Cheers

Rob pretty much nailed it.

Many times, a photo is either placed in the "users gallery only" folder or marked as "questionable" not because the photo itself is bad, but because the minerals and/or locality might not be correct, or the description of the photo is jacked up. More often than not, a user will simply put what is on the label verbatim and not examine the specimen to be sure it is accurate. I run into that issue a lot where the specimen was misidentified way back when and never examined/corrected, or the specimen was attributed to a locality that did not produce such minerals.

Thanks for the clarification Paul. I have edited the image with added information which should hopefully clear things up. If Rob is correct that all the gormanites might be souzalite, should this not be mentioned on the info page for gormanite? and maybe the photos that are current shown be moved under souzalite

Notice that I was talking like Trump. "A more general problem with all the gormanites is that they may be sousalite, if I remember correctly." When I can locate the MR article, it is here somewhere, and can remove the qualifications "may" and "if I remember correctly", some messages will be sent. A further difficulty with Bobdownsite is that not all that Rod Tyson found were Bobdownsite, some were the visually identical whitlockite, though the material was later all sold as Bobdownsite.
