Mineralogical ClassificationIMA 2002-014

Hi all,

I've just update an australian locality : Mt Painter, n°2 workings (http://www.mindat.org/loc.php?loc=16646) with reference to an article from the Australian Journal of Mineralogy, vol 5 , n°1, june 2003.

Authors describe the found of a new mineral named 'Spriggite': Pb3<(UO2)6O8(OH)2).3H2O

I've found in a message from Marco Ciriotti (http://www.mindat.org/msg-14-99-99.html) that's a synonym of IMA02-014.

Could somebody add it to mindat ?

Regards,

Jean-Marc.

Spriggite has been approved by the IMA as 2002-14, but the reference is Australian Journal of Mineralogy, vol. 9, no. 1, 15-31. However, this article does not give a complete description of the mineral; the complete description is said to have been "submitted".

Hi MrNickel,

Oups ! Sorry about the mistake.

You're right, reference on 'Mont Painter' is in volume 9, N°1 not in volume 5 of the AJM.

In the same issue, I've read your article about " Mineralogical problems and the CNMMN".

Let me congratulate you on this, It's the clearest and the more concisely writing paper I've never read about mineral nomenclature.

To respect Mindat.com rules (Joyon message,http://www.mindat.org/msg-14-287-287.html) could somebody add the mineral "IMA02-014" with "Spriggite" as synonym?

Regards.

Jean-Marc.
