Please somebody, tell me how I can successfully upload mineral photos. I cannot get the website to accept any locality descriptions that I have, for example " Illabo Mine, Nana Glen, New South Wales, Australia" where I have found what I think is trigonite. Just exactly what do I have to use as the location???

Hi Alan
Firstly we need to have the location registered in Mindat, and we didnt have this one. I have just added the mine under Coffs Harbour, the nearest major town I think? : If you can add any general info on the mine, and Lat/Long, please do, and a reference (your book ?).
Next step is to add the minerals known from the site, using the Edit/add minerals tab on the location website, again with references where possible.
Third step is to add photos, most easily done from the location page with the Edit/add photo tab.
Any problems, let us know?

Re trigonite: this is very rare, how was it identified?

I meant to add that David (though blokes dont usually read instruction manuals!)

Alan, I added some minerals and more info to this site, but not trigonite yet as its so extremely rare we need some good identification first.

I almost missed this question due to the heading or lack of info in the heading!!

Anyway have added a bit more info to the locality

I am putting together an article about Actonvale and Upton Quebec. I have lots of info and photos to share. The Acton Mine, Actonvale Qc is listed as a copper mine. I found it. It is in side a presently active limestone quarry called the Actonvale Quarry or Carrier d'Actonvale. I had gotten permission to enter the active quarry and have lots of photos of mineral specimens and rock structure. But I need to replace the Acton Mine with the larger Actonvale Quarry. I can't do it because the share the same address (Lat Long) so how to procede. I am not sure if I am addressing the right string here, but I want to get this article finished.

Start out locality editing:
Acton mine, Acton Vale, Acton RCM, Montérégie, Québec, Canada
and change to:
Acton mine, Actonvale Quarry, Acton Vale, Acton RCM, Montérégie, Québec, Canada

Then add the quarry site (easiest is to add a sublocality to Acton mine and then erase Acton mine from the input form):
Actonvale Quarry, Acton Vale, Acton RCM, Montérégie, Québec, Canada

Lat/Long are not required to be unique.
Is the same as

Thanks Much. I will try it
