Fakes & FraudsNewbie needs help, is this Afghanite?

In the last photo, along the bottom edge it appears the dark blue is a thin coating over lighter crystals. I thought I read somewhere this was the case with Afghanite but I'm unsure. I've purchased this but it hasn't shipped yet. Your assistance is appreciated. I'm very much in the "buy what looks nice" stage of collecting.

Hi Chris,

This is not afghanite but a very nice specimen of Hauyne (blue). It could be partially altered to white zeolite or be growing on white marble.

This does not look like a 'fake' to me as far as something dyed, etc... but I don't feel that this is Afghanite. Looks like Gonnardite partly replacing Hauyne. Very typical material from the Koksha Valley.

Thank you all very much.

It certainly looks like the 3rd photo down in the gallery.

Seems to be misidentified but seems as though hauyne is even a bit more valuable, so I'm happy with this purchase!
