David Roles, of Manchester, England, has died after a long struggle with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. He was 58. For those who did not know him, in the 1990s he was instrumental in bringing to attention the Hammam Zriba mine in Tunisia, with its world class celestine crystals, although it was others following in his footsteps who brought most of the specimens to market, initially misidentifying them as barite. If anyone has contact details for Dave’s next of kin, please pass them to me, there is a matter I would like to discuss with them.
