Quick note to invite collectors to the 44th Annual Flagg Gem and Mineral Show in Mesa, AZ on January 8-10 at Mesa Community College. This is an outdoor show with over 100 vendors, displays, activities for kids, samples for teachers and local clubs. Free parking and admission--this is the largest show in the Phoenix area with thousands of visitors! 9am-5pm daily.

Looking forward to it! I'll see you there. Hope the weather cooperates.

Hi Brendan,

As always, I look forward to seeing you and your selection of minerals. The weather outlook appeared grim but the chances

of rain have diminished considerably according to the Weather Channel and online forecasts. The phone has been ringing constantly for show information--it is an awesome FREE event for families and collectors. Well, collectors tend to leave considerably poorer than when they arrived!

Dana - do you know if there will be a different venue for the 2017 Flagg show?

thanks,

bob

Hi Bob,

At this moment, the venue will remain the same. We had a slight hitch with MCC enforcing a 15 year old statute prohibiting vendors in RVs, etc. from staying on the campus grounds---even if in the parking lot. We lost perhaps a half dozen sellers as we were told very late in the game that the obscure code would be enforced. Our dealer contracts for 2017 will contain language that will make everyone aware that overnight camping cannot be allowed.

There are some that wish to change the venue but I feel that moving the show would be a grave mistake. It is conveniently located right at the freeway and everyone knows its location and dates of the show. It was an excellent show despite cooler temps than normal and rather gloomy weather on Friday and Sunday. Saturday, when most of the public attends, was bright and traffic was brisk.

Best regards,

Dana
