The San Diego Mineral & Gem Society will have its 2016 Gem Diego Show on Saturday & Sunday November 5 & 6. Hours are 9:30 am to 5 pm on Saturday & 10 am to 4 pm on Sunday. This event will be held at the Al Bahr Shrine at 5440 Kearny Mesa Road, San Diego, CA 92111, behind the Hampton Inn at the 163 Freeway & Clairemont Mesa Blvd. This is just west of 163. Exit the 163 Freeway at Clairemont Mesa Blvd going west, immediately upon exiting turn right before the Mobil Station onto Kearny Mesa Road. You will then see a Residence Inn and then the Hampton Inn, turn into the driveway for the Hampton Inn/Al Bahr Shrine (make sure you do not turn into the driveway for the Associated Storage) and then drive to the back of the inn and you will see the Al Bahr Shrine.

There will be exhibits, demonstrations, dealers with gems, minerals, crystals, fossils, facet rough, cab rough, slabs, spheres and lapidary items, beads and books. There will also be free gem identification and there will be LOTS of great DOOR PRIZES with the drawing to be held on Sunday afternoon. A fun experience for the entire family! Admission and parking are free.

This is always a nice show and worth the drive. I plan to attend. But then again, I will be a vendor at that show (Dragon Minerals).
