Next time, please search before posting (there are only two hits for Xikuangshan; actually, the deposit description should have told you that there was something wrong).

Rock, thanks for using this picture in the Best Minerals-Calcite-China article. I think this specimen deserves to be in the article.

Peter, I always search prudently before posting, and I can can tell you that each specimen in my collection is very well documented with all kind of info. So I posted the specimen under Xikuangshan Mine instead of Xikuangshan Sb deposit.

I admit that for a Calcite with Stibnite, the Sb deposit was more likely, but there is also something like a printed dealer label and the knowledge of the dealer himself who told met that he visited the Xikuangshan Mine at least dozen times and bought the specimen in october 2010 at the Xikuangshan Mine immediately after it was found.

To get even more confused I can also tell you that at least on a half dozen "reputaded" dealer websites that I have checked this morning, that "similar" specimens are all listed as from the Xikuangshan Mine and not from the Xikuangshan Pb Deposit.

Well, to be precise, there are mines at Xikuangshan, but there is no "Xikuangshan Mine". "Xikuangshan" is the name of the deposit, which consist of four large ore blocks (see notes on the locality page). Two of these blocks are mined by the "North Mine" and the "South Mine", respectively (references are various Chinese articles cited at the bottom of the page).

In China, the name of the mine is only rarely the same as the name of the deposit

Just for fun, navigate to the Lengshuijiang Co. page, click the "hybrid" or "satellite" view on the map and tell me how many workings you see (grid reference is centered on the deposit, which extends over an area of 16 square kilometers) ...
