Improving Mindat.orgSometimes Translator is a problem -

15th Jan 2017 20:46 UTCChris DeGrave Expert

Try to search for "Stribro" in the Czech Republic. The actual site is listed here, but if you search Stribro, you get directed to Silver.

http://www.mindat.org/loc-18389.html

Also, a site at Zlate Hory is listed as Blue Tables, rather than Modra Stola.

I'm using Chrome - translating on the page may be at my end, but the search seems to be Mindat.

Thank you,

Chris

Stribro is the Czech word for silver, so the translation is correct. But a lot of geographical names can be read in another way,, here some examples of town names in the Flemish region of my country, with their literally translation in English:

Mol = mole

Geel = yellow

Heks = witch

As = ashes

and a lot more. I suppose you have cases like this in almost every language/country.

If you use the search at the BOTTOM of the page rather than the top it will work.

Why not move the lower search area to the top with the other searches?

Then everybody could find it easy ;-)
