Improving Mindat.orgEllweilerit and Paulite (of Bültemann)

1st Jun 2017 16:24 UTCHartmut Hensel Expert

Not really an error but I thought this might be the appropriate forum (feel free to move it to another forum).

I propose to add "Ellweilerit" as a German synonym for Natrouranospinite (which is also done in the German Mineralienatlas.de).

Strunz & Nickel: Strunz Mineralogical tables 9th edition:

Ellweilerit = sodium-uranospinite (p. 770)

It might also be worth to add the obsolete name "Paulite (of Bültemann)" which was proposed by Bültemann in above referenced Aufschluss article. It was attributed to a hypothetical As-Analogon of Sabugalite from Bühlskopf/Ellweiler/Germany (https://www.mindat.org/loc-13488.html)

Sounds good Go ahead.

Thank you Rob for your feedback. But as far as I know, I do not have sufficient rights to edit mineral entries in the DB (at least I do not see any button that would allow me to do so).

Regards

Hartmut

Now give it a try.

I tried, but still do not see a possibility to edit the mineral page. I only see "Edit history" button and in case I click it an empty page opens. Maybe I overlook something? Also checked the mindat manual but didn't find any relevant information.

Thanks for trying Hartmut. Please check what I said about them. At the very top of the page there's an add/edit button and clicking on that should give a drop down with Add New Mineral and that button does the trick. Maybe only mangers can do this?

"Maybe only mangers can do this?" - Basically yes.

Thanks David.

Sorry Helmut I wasn't trying to be difficult. Please add new stuff and please let me know when you can't.

Rob,

there is no change in what I can do. Seems like I really do not have sufficient rights. Maybe if one of the managers would volunteer to add my proposals?

Thanks

Hartmut

Someone had already entered Ellweilerit (next time please do not choose the Entry type "mineral/compound", but synonym).

I added ellweilerite.

I also added the missing chemical composition for the paulite, and formatted the general description.

Thank you Uwe.
