Not sure why he calls it "cave calcite" either. It's just calcite ! Tom

I saw these being sold by a few of the Mexican dealers at the Denver and Tucson shows (don't remember how many years ago), but they had them labeled "cave calcite". Maybe they called them that because they hit a large pocket in the mine that was the size of a cave, but who knows...

I think "cave calcite" is the same than "karstic calcite", that's a calcite which has grow in a natural cave at ambient temperature and pressure (under 40 ºC and about one bar).
