Mineral ExchangesISO Pennsylvania Mineral Specimens - Rutile, Celestite, Amethyst, Calcites, etc...

15th Oct 2015 16:22 UTCJohn Kushmerick

Hi,

I'm looking for mid to high grade display quality specimens from PA to build out the PA part of my collection. I'm particularly interested in the following, but would possibly be interested in other interesting specimens.

Celestite - Meckley Quarry, Mandata

Rutile (preferably twinned) - Any PA locale

Amethyst - York cty, Delaware cty, or elsewhere

Chrome antigorite (Kammemerite) - woods chrome mine

Blue Quartz (Actinolite included) - Blue Hill, Media, PA

Botryoidal Malachite - Jones Mine, Morgantown

Calcite - York Cty or elsewhere

Wavellite - National Limestone Quarry, Mt Pleasant Mills

Wavellite - General Trimble Mine

Matualite - Bachmann Hellertown Mine

If you have any of the above, or anything else interesting and usual, please let me know.

I'm also always up for any field collecting as well, should you want a collecting partner.

Thanks,

John

Hello John,

I have a small cabinet specimen of wavellite from the Mount Pleasant Mills locality. I also have several examples of pyromorphite on quartz (single crystal to nice clusters) from the Brookdale Mine in Phoenixville, a thumbnail of Garnierite from Cedar Hill quarry in Lancaster Co., as well as a cabinet specimen of deweylite from the same locality. I also have a nice boxed set of minerals from French Creek that was collected in the 60's; but at the top of my PA collection is specimen #45 from Arthur L. Flagg's collection: a clinochlore crystal from Brinton's Quarry.

Would be happy to offer you the wavellite. I may have more PA specimens around as well.

Paul tell me more about your French Creek boxed set in PM, please.

Hello,

I am also interested in the box set if available. I have many PA specimens including Wavellite, Celestite, interesting Calcites, Sphalerite and Galena, Brookdale, French Creek and Ecton material. I also have some rutile you may be interested in. I would be happy to talk rocks with you. Maybe we could connect on a better platform such as Facebook?
