Pink to white Calcite crystals in a pocket in the Black River Group Limestone roughly 75 mm in diameter. The limestone is usually dark grey when fresh, but alters to greyish white due to weathering.

This is the St. Mary's Quarry. It has 5 levels, for which a dark black fossiliferous shale is at the top and it becomes shaley limestone below.

N'Chwaning II Mine, N'Chwaning Mines, Kuruman, Kalahari manganese field, Northern Cape, South Africa

Clear colourless tabular Apophyllite crystals with brown (likely iron) staining from the N'chwaning II mine in South Africa. The crystals range up to just over 1 cm on edge.

Purple Fluorite cubes on white to colourless microcrystalline Quartz.

I have found in the past that purple Fluorite just doesn't seem to fluoresce. Green Fluorite, yes, Colourless to yellow Fluorite, yes, but not purple. That said, this piece fluoresces blue under Long-wave UV Light (See Attachment with 8 second exposure).

The Lacey mine produced very large Phlogopite mica crystals, reportedly up to 9 feet in diameter. (~2.7 m)

This specimen is much smaller, merely ~155 x 125 x 5 mm.
