The ski plane had landed on the soft fresh snow that had fallen overnight allowing every footstep and skid mark to show.

Franz Josef-Fox glacier, Westland Tai Poutini National Park, Westland District, West Coast Region, South Island, New Zealand

Terminal face of the glacier showing the banks of moraine on either side. The bird is one of the keas which are notorious for tearing strips of rubber or metal from parked vehicles. Visitors beware.

Numerous slender prisms of fluorapatite which may be hollow. Just left of centre is a black magnetite crystal. In the upper left corner is a brownish diopside crystal and another in the lower right corner.
