3N1-NYKPyromorphite Pb5(PO4)3Cl , Galena PbS , Cerussite PbCO3

07145450017058426699048.jpg
Argentolle Mine, L'Argentolle, Saint-Prix, Autun, Saône-et-Loire, Bourgogne-Franche-Comté, France

Dimensions: 75 mm x 75 mm x 50 mm

The contours of the galena cube were epigenized by pyromorphite.
The heart of the crystal still contains galena encrusted with a mineral that I have not been able to identify.
There are also traces of hydroxyapatites on the outline of the cube.

Here the pyromorphite has crystallized in covering of the galena.
One can observe galena cubes covered with hilly pyromorphite.
Cerusitis is very present.

Dimensions: 90 mm x 70 mm x 40 mm
Largest Crystal Size: 20 mm

Multigeneration fluorite released with fluoridric acid.
Crystals are curved octahedra. Because of their intergeneration, the colors are different at heart.
The last generation presents incomplete crystallizations either by lack or by dissolution.

Fluorite of several generations, the most recent crystals of which have a cubic termination.
The sample was prepared with fluoridric acid to show the yellow cubes.

This fluorite comes from the Mont Chevret vein.

JF6-TYGAragonite CaCO3

Gratteloup mine, Domecy-sur-Cure, Avallon, Yonne, Bourgogne-Franche-Comté, France

Dimensions: 110 mm x 70 mm x 65 mm

A rare sample of neo-formation Aragonite.
The deposit is very probably contemporary with the opening of the geode. The aragonite is still visible in the geode. To my knowledge, this is the only sample taken from this geode.

Photo and discovery: David Steiner.
Collection: Christophe Millot.
