Largest Crystal Size: 0.9 cm

Small beige/tan/taupe sheaf-like smithsonite crystals to 0.9 cm in clusters on hard deep mauve colored matrix with white coating, numerous very small balls of lustrous dark green bayldonite. Small cerussite crystal on back.

Decent dry bone smithsonite on one side, some copper; nice copper on the other, blah smithsonite. Cream colored small parallel knobby smithsonite stalactites to just under 2 cm in tight groups, somewhat lustrous on one side of piece. Heavily oxidized copper is about 4x1 cm, very nice knobs. Also several small cerussite crystals. Ex Wayne Leicht, Leavitt, Humboldt Univeristy Museum, Berlin

Sand-included small "desert roses" to 0.6 cm in mass, 9x8x5.5 cm. Picked up, only one seen, in the midst of the desert on road trip to Ghadames in late 1970. Western Betweem Ghadames and Tripoli, in what is now Nalut district. Old region of Tripolitania.At the time, no road, only desert track. Ghadames is a fascinating old oasis settlement just at tip of Tunisia where Algeria, Tunisia and Libya meet.

Light baby blue botryoidal smithsonite, good luster, completely coating barite blades to 1.4 cm and matrix. 4x3x2.5 cm overall. A few micro chrysocolla (?) spots on the knobs. A "twofer" for me.
