PRR-0HUQuartz SiO2
Crngrob, Škofja Loka, SloveniaLargest Crystal Size: 40 mm
Typical find of bi-terminated quartz with carbon inclusions. Usually crystals are embedded in reddish clay and can be easily cleaned after the soil is dried. The size of biggest crystal is 4 cm.
5C3-2CRPyrite FeS2 , Galena PbS
St. Jakob, Katarina Mountain, Ljubljana, SloveniaSmall patch of galena (white) on twinned pyrite crystal. Change in contrast on pyrite surface is due to surface oxidation.

TT4-9CNCalcite CaCO3 , Pyrite FeS2
St. Jakob, Katarina Mountain, Ljubljana, SloveniaSmall crystals of second generation calcite from a small vug in silicified concretion from clay strata. Also some pyrite crystals embedded in quartz matrix is visible at the top of the specimen.
Collected in 2008 during pyrite occurrence at Katarina Mt. research is a good example for mineralogical sequence determination. Size of specimen is 5×4 cm.
Digging site
Okoška Gora, Oplotnica, SloveniaSituation on location on 6th of August 2011 - two types of mineralised veins are visible, horizontal vein is older and filled with massive quartz and amethysts. Vertical vein are partially filled with smaller long prismatic clear quartz crystals.
Best pockets are on intersections of both vein systems where intergrowths of amethysts and clear quartz can be found.

Sitarjevec mine, Litija, SloveniaCrystals of cerussite on matrix from Litija Mine. Size of specimen si approx. 15 cm.
Currently in Montanuniversität Leoben collection.
JEN-295Cinnabar HgS , Quartz SiO2
Sitarjevec mine, Litija, SloveniaNice crystal of cinnabar in a quartz vug from Litija Mine. Overall specimen size is around 10 cm. Photo is from Montanuniversität Leoben collection.

LFR-2LCCalcite CaCO3
Sivec marble quarries, Sivec Mountain, Prisad, Prilep Municipality, North MacedoniaCalcite twin on a plate of marble from small vug in Sivec marble quarry. Size of the specimen is 80 mm.
The specimem is complete all around.

Access to Doroteja level
Helena mining district, Črna na Koroškem, SloveniaThe main inclined 40° shaft in the Helena Mine connecting the central transport adit (787 m) with the higher Doroteja district (925 m). 540 iron stairs lead straight to the 112 m higher II. general level and from there through a few hundred metres of tunnels and stopes we reach Doroteja. Photographed 24-2-2010.
